These Terms and Conditions ("Terms") govern your use of AstroCalc ("the Service"), accessible at https://astrocalc.in and via our mobile applications on Apple App Store and Google Play Store. By accessing or using the Service, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree, please discontinue use immediately.
AstroCalc is operated by Divyanshu Verma (sole proprietor), based in India.
1. Nature of Service
AstroCalc is a Vedic Astrology (Jyotish) application that provides:
- Birth chart generation (D1 Rasi, D9 Navamsa, D10 Dashamsa)
- Planetary strength analysis (Shadbala)
- Vimshottari Dasha timelines (Mahadasha, Antardasha, Pratyantar)
- Yoga detection and analysis
- Manglik status assessment
- Ashtakoota compatibility matching
- Educational content on Vedic astrology
All calculations are performed algorithmically using the Swiss Ephemeris and standard Vedic astrological rules. The Service is designed for users within India, though it is accessible globally.
2. Eligibility
You must be at least 18 years of age to create an account and use AstroCalc. By using the Service, you represent that you meet this age requirement. Users may create birth chart profiles for family members (including minors) for astrological purposes, but the account holder assumes full responsibility for all data entered.
3. Account Registration
To access the full features of AstroCalc, you must sign in using Google OAuth. You agree to:
- Provide accurate information during sign-in.
- Maintain the security of your account by not sharing access credentials.
- Accept responsibility for all activity under your account.
- Notify us promptly if you suspect unauthorized access to your account.
We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms.
4. Astrological Predictions & Disclaimer
The astrological insights, predictions, and interpretations provided by AstroCalc are generated algorithmically and should be understood as follows:
- For guidance and entertainment only. They are not a substitute for professional medical, legal, financial, or psychological advice.
- Best-effort accuracy. While we strive for computational accuracy in planetary positions and chart calculations, interpretations are based on traditional Vedic texts and may vary across different schools of thought.
- No guarantees. We do not guarantee the accuracy, completeness, or applicability of any prediction or insight to your specific life circumstances.
- User discretion advised. You are solely responsible for any decisions made based on the information provided by the Service.
5. Subscription Plans & Payments
AstroCalc offers tiered subscription plans (Free, Plus, and Pro) with varying feature access. By subscribing to a paid plan:
- Billing: You authorize us to charge the applicable subscription fee through Razorpay, our payment processor. Prices are displayed in Indian Rupees (INR).
- Recurring charges: Monthly subscriptions auto-renew unless cancelled before the next billing date. Annual subscriptions renew at the end of the 12-month period.
- Free trial: If a free trial is offered, you will not be charged until the trial period ends. You may cancel before the trial expires to avoid charges.
- Price changes: We may adjust subscription prices with at least 30 days' advance notice. Existing subscribers will be notified via email before any price change takes effect.
6. Cancellation & Refunds
You may cancel your subscription at any time through your account settings or by contacting us. Upon cancellation:
- Your paid features remain active until the end of the current billing period.
- No prorated refunds are issued for the remaining days of the current billing cycle.
- Your account reverts to the Free tier after the paid period ends.
Refund eligibility:
- Refund requests must be submitted within 7 days of the transaction by emailing dev.verma1010@gmail.com.
- Failed transactions where money was deducted will be automatically refunded by the payment gateway within 5-7 business days.
- One-time purchases (such as ad-free upgrades) are non-refundable after 7 days.
7. User Conduct
When using AstroCalc, you agree not to:
- Attempt to gain unauthorized access to the Service, other users' accounts, or our servers and infrastructure.
- Use automated tools (bots, scrapers, crawlers) to access or extract data from the Service.
- Reverse-engineer, decompile, or disassemble any part of the application.
- Use the Service for any unlawful purpose or in violation of any applicable laws.
- Interfere with or disrupt the integrity or performance of the Service.
- Misrepresent your identity or impersonate another person.
8. Intellectual Property
All content, design, code, algorithms, trademarks, and other intellectual property within AstroCalc are owned by Divyanshu Verma and are protected under applicable intellectual property laws. You may not:
- Copy, reproduce, distribute, or create derivative works from any part of the Service without prior written consent.
- Use the AstroCalc name, logo, or branding for any commercial purpose without authorization.
Content you generate through the Service (such as birth chart PDFs) is for your personal use. You may share individual chart reports, but you may not systematically redistribute generated content for commercial purposes.
9. Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law:
- AstroCalc and its developer shall not be held liable for any direct, indirect, incidental, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of the Service.
- We are not liable for any decisions made based on astrological data, predictions, or interpretations provided by the Service.
- Our total liability to you for any claim arising from these Terms or your use of the Service shall not exceed the amount you paid to us in the 12 months preceding the claim.
- We do not warrant that the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or free of harmful components.
10. Indemnification
You agree to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless Divyanshu Verma and AstroCalc from any claims, damages, losses, or expenses (including legal fees) arising from your violation of these Terms, your misuse of the Service, or your violation of any third party's rights.
11. Third-Party Services
AstroCalc integrates with third-party services including Google (authentication, analytics), Razorpay (payments), Firebase (push notifications), and Amazon Web Services (hosting). Your use of these services is subject to their respective terms and privacy policies. We are not responsible for the practices or availability of third-party services.
12. Service Availability & Modifications
We strive to maintain the Service's availability but do not guarantee uninterrupted access. We reserve the right to:
- Modify, update, or discontinue any feature of the Service at any time.
- Perform scheduled or emergency maintenance that may temporarily affect access.
- Limit or restrict access to certain features based on subscription tier.
For significant changes that affect paid subscribers, we will provide reasonable advance notice.
13. Termination
We may suspend or terminate your access to the Service if you violate these Terms, engage in fraudulent activity, or upon request. You may also terminate your account at any time by:
- Using the "Delete Account" option in Account Settings.
- Emailing us at dev.verma1010@gmail.com.
Upon termination, your access to the Service ceases and your data is handled as described in our Privacy Policy.
14. Changes to These Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. When we make changes:
- The "Last Updated" date at the top of this page will be revised.
- For material changes, we will notify you via email or in-app notification at least 7 days before the changes take effect.
- Continued use of the Service after changes become effective constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.
15. Governing Law & Dispute Resolution
These Terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of India. Any dispute arising from these Terms or your use of the Service shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts in India.
Before initiating any formal legal proceedings, both parties agree to attempt to resolve disputes through good-faith negotiation by contacting each other directly.
16. Severability
If any provision of these Terms is found to be unenforceable or invalid by a court of competent jurisdiction, the remaining provisions shall continue in full force and effect.
